Won't You Stop Torture and Political Killing

Political killings can be stopped if government authorities unequivocally demonstrate the will to end these atrocities. One effective demonstration of such political will is the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for mass killings. By bringing indicted war criminals before international courts, world leaders provide a measure of justice to survivors and show their commitment to both upholding the rule of law and preventing recurrences of atrocities.

You can help protect lives and prevent political killings by writing to President Clinton and urging his strong support for the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslvia and Rwanda, for the establishment of a permanent International Criminal Court, and for the arrest of indicted war criminals. U.S. troops are currently stationed in Bosnia, one of the countries of the former Yugoslavia.
