Your voice will make a
difference. It's in your hands. Won't you help?
Each of the human rights
categories listed below offers background information
about why action - your action - is so important. Within
each category, action ideas are suggested under these
five buttons:
Request and
Read (directs you to
relevant books, articles, documents and on-line
resources)
Act Locally (gives you concrete things you can do to
promote human rights in your own community)
Act
Nationally or Internationally (offers you local activities with a
national or international focus)
Grab a
Partner (connects you
to a national organization with an ongoing campaign
or program)
Raise Your
Voice (urges you to
speak up for specific individuals suffering from
gross human rights violations)
Like human rights themselves, the
following categories are closely linked. For example,
protecting children's rights can involve protecting girls
and boys from torture or from crippling labor practices.
Protecting freedom of religion or the right to fair trail
can be connected to securing free expression. For every
category that interests you, you'll find related issues
in the other categories. Explore the issues. Consider
where you stand. Turn your concern into action!
