| Freedom to receive and
impart knowledge is essential to the operations of your
local library and schools. A library or school would be
an especially appropriate place for display of the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and perhaps a
public event, during 1998 to celebrate the 50th
Anniversary of the Universal Declaration. Resources
provided in this guide may give you ideas about arranging
a display. Talk with a librarian, teacher, or school
administrator about setting up a display. You also may want to organize an afternoon or evening event drawing public attention to the display. The event may be simply a community gathering with refreshments or something more elaborate with a speaker or panel discussing the importance of free expression. A teacher, local journalist, or leader of your faith community may be a good speaker on this issue. National Coordinating Committee for
